Looking for a place to take your family and where fun is guaranteed? Come to Porto and the North and discover a region which will delight both young and old. Here you can find activities for everyone and we are sure that you will start counting down the days to your next visit!

In Porto

With its varied offer of historical and cultural sites, the Unconquered City is a place where the kids will never get bored. Even the most classic spots have an air of curiosity which will awaken the interest of young people.

Are your kids fans of the adventures of Harry Potter? Take them to the Lello Bookshop and tell them that this place was the inspiration for the writer to create that magical place. Surely this stroll through one of the most beautiful bookstores in the world will be even more interesting.

Follow an adventure in the streets of Porto, by tram or bike – in downtown and the center there are several sites where you can rent bikes or tandems. Go by the Monument Church of São Francisco de Assis and play a game: who will be the first to see the bones and skulls in the catacombs?

In order for the kids to learn more about the History of Portugal, take them to learn about the odyssey of Portuguese navigators and ships by visiting the World of Discoveries, an Interactive Museum and Theme Park for the entire family which recreates the history of Portuguese Discoveries.

Leaving the historic city center, the adventure is just starting! The City Park and the Serralves Foundation are places not to be missed when visiting the city with your family. Here the visit is necessarily longer, because the kids will love the Serralves Park and will want to take photos with the over 7 meter spud. The Family program in Serralves – free and always on Sundays – brings together kids, parents and grandparents to play as scientists, discovering the secrets of plants and doing crafts in various spaces of the foundation.

At Porto City Park, let them chase wild duck, water hens and rabbits which inhabit the largest green "lung" of the city and the largest urban park in the country, or getting to know the species inhabiting our oceans and rivers at Sea Life Porto

Here everyone will love the first underwater tunnel of the country, where visitors pass through 500 thousand liters of water and see sharks and stingrays swim right above their heads. In the rocky pools, let them pick up a hedgehog or touch a starfish.

If your family is made up of history buffs, go to the Portuguese Printing Press museum and visit the exposition “Living Printing Press Memories”, the largest exhibit of typographic relics in Europe. The interactive tour is an interesting way of bringing together the generations and a unique opportunity to find out more about the history of the press.
