Film “Vê-se Mesmo Que São do Norte” wins 3rd place in the World’s Best Tourism Film Awards

Porto and Northern Portugal solidifies its excellence in tourism promotion with international recognition, winning five awards at the World’s Best Tourism Film Awards

Porto and the North of Portugal Tourism was awarded 3rd place in the "Regions" category at the 36th CIFFT – World’s Best Tourism Film Awards, with the promotional film “Vê-se Mesmo Que São do Norte”. This recognition places the film among the three best in the world in its category, consolidating Porto and the North as a global reference destination.


The film is the result of an excellent partnership between Porto and Northern Tourism, the creativity of the CaetsuTwo agency and Lobby Productions, which translated this vision into striking images with great emotional impact.


The award at the CIFFT is another milestone in the trajectory of this film, which had already been awarded at prestigious international festivals such as the Muse Awards 2024 (Gold), the Telly Awards 2024 (Gold), both in New York, and the ART&TUR International, in Portugal (Silver), among others.


Over the past year, the film has competed with high-profile, multi-million dollar productions, representing global destinations such as Switzerland, Canada, Indonesia and Spain, the USA… starring stars such as Roger Federer, Robert De Niro and Anne Hathaway.


A tribute to the North
The remaining four awards for the region were won by Conservas Pinhais, the Consortium of Municipalities of Ponte de Lima, Barcelos, Paredes de Coura and Valença, the Serralves Foundation and PortugalNTN.

Luís Pedro Martins, President of Turismo do Porto e Norte, took to the stage in Valencia to receive the award, accompanied by the CaetsuTwo agency and the production company Lobby Productions. In his speech, he highlighted: 

“These awards are a celebration of the authenticity and strength of the people of the North. We have many attributes, but our greatest asset is our people. This is a destination that excites, that inspires passion and that stands out for its unique soul. These awards belong to all of us – they belong to the people of Porto and the North of Portugal!”

The CIFFT – World’s Best Tourism Film Awards are the most prestigious global competition for tourism promotion films, and are often referred to as the “Oscars of Tourism Cinema”.

 This edition featured 4,000 nominated films from all over the world, and stood out for their high competitiveness and quality of productions.

 The film “Vê-se Mesmo Que São do Norte” reinforces the strategic positioning of Porto and the North as an authentic destination, with identity and soul.
